Frequently Asked Questions

What sample format does the Multigrain need?

The Multigrain plays 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo WAV files. Mono files need to be converted to stereo before loading. There's a 32-second soft limit per sample, and longer files are truncated on import.

How are samples organized on the Multigrain?

The microSD card uses 48 numbered project folders (Project01 through Project48), each holding up to 128 samples. There's also a global Wavs/ folder shared across all projects, and a Recs/ folder for module recordings (up to 1,024 files).

How is the Multigrain different from the Morphagene?

Both are sample-based Eurorack modules with different design ideas. The Morphagene is a tape and microsound module focused on splice-based navigation across long reels. The Multigrain is a granular synthesizer with per-project sample sets, oriented toward texture synthesis from many short samples rather than splice navigation across long ones.

Can I prepare Multigrain projects on a Mac?

Yes. SampleStack includes a Multigrain profile that handles the 48 kHz stereo conversion, validates the 32-second length limit, and organizes files into the correct project folder structure on the SD card.
