Notes

All samples must be placed inside the /samples/ subdirectory (unlike Disting EX which uses root-level folders)
Accepts 8-bit, 16-bit, or 24-bit uncompressed WAV, mono or stereo, at any sample rate
playlist.txt controls file order and per-file options (loop points, root note). First line must be 'disting playlist v1'
Algorithm-specific playlists checked first (e.g., poly-multisample-playlist.txt), then playlist.txt as fallback
MIDI algorithms look for midi-playlist.txt instead of playlist.txt
