Notes

  • 1 kit = 1 folder. Folder names: letter (A-Z) + number (0-99)
  • All kit folders must be at the root of the SD card
  • Filenames must start with voice number 1-4, then any name (e.g., 1_kick.wav)
  • Up to 12 layers per voice for multisampling (random, round-robin, or velocity)

Preparing samples for the Rample / Rample Turbo

The Squarp Rample reads 44.1 kHz, 16-bit WAV, mono or stereo, organized into kits. Each kit is a folder named with a letter and a number, from A00 to Z99, sitting at the root of the microSD card, which gives you up to 2,600 kits to work with.

Naming inside a kit is what trips people up: every filename has to start with its voice number, 1 to 4, before any descriptive name, so 1_kick.wav lands on voice one. The Rample also multisamples, stacking up to twelve layers per voice as random, round-robin, or velocity sets. SampleStack converts to the Rample's format and writes the voice-numbered filenames and kit folders for you, so a kit loads without manual renaming.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sample format does the Squarp Rample use?

44.1 kHz, 16-bit WAV, mono or stereo, organized into kits (named A00 to Z99) on a microSD card, with up to four layers per kit.

How does SampleStack help with the Rample?

SampleStack converts samples to 44.1 kHz 16-bit WAV and lays them out in the Rample's kit folder structure, so they load without renaming by hand.
