Preparing samples for the Assimil8or

The Rossum Assimil8or is unusually flexible on rate and depth, accepting WAV at 48, 96, or 192 kHz and 24-bit across eight channels, which makes it a strong home for high-resolution multisamples. The constraint is memory, not format: only one folder is active at a time, and the samples it references have to total 422 MB or less.

Folders sit at the root of the card with no nested subfolders inside a working folder, and filenames should avoid the / and # characters. Presets are plain text, so they are easy to edit or script on a computer once a folder is built. SampleStack converts and organizes a set into a single root-level folder, keeps the total under the 422 MB budget, and steers clear of the characters the module cannot read.
