SampleStack 1.0.2 is here with a big expansion to instrument support. We’ve gone from 9 to 29 supported instruments, covering everything from compact Eurorack modules to standalone grooveboxes.
20 new instruments
This release adds full support for:
Eurorack modules: Bitbox mk2 (1010music), Assimil8or (Rossum Electro-Music), 4ms Sampler/STS, Tiptop ONE, 2hp Play, Disting EX and Disting NT (Expert Sleepers), Two of Cups (Endorphin.es), GrandPA (Bastl Instruments), Nebulae v2 (Qu-Bit Electronix), ADDAC WAV Player, and ER-301 (Orthogonal Devices).
Standalone samplers and grooveboxes: Digitakt II and Model:Samples (Elektron), MPC One and Live II (Akai Professional), SP-404MKII (Roland), Maschine+ (Native Instruments), Tracker Mini (Polyend), S2400 (Isla Instruments), and GR-1 (Tasty Chips).
Every new instrument gets auto-detection, sample validation, format conversion, folder-structure creation, and export, the same as the originals.
Custom manufacturer icons
All 29 instruments now display their manufacturer’s logo in the sidebar and module picker. Easier to spot your libraries at a glance.
Instruments default to a neutral colour scheme. You can change the colour of any library via right-click > Set Color.
Under the hood
A few targeted performance and stability fixes:
- Faster library scanning. Pitch index writes are now batched during analysis instead of being written to disk after every sample. Less I/O overhead on large libraries.
- Layout fixes. Resolved edge cases where the expanded player minimap and sidebar divider could produce invalid geometry at very small window sizes.
- Reliable metadata persistence. Tags, ratings, and other metadata now persist immediately, fixing a rare issue where quitting very quickly after editing could lose changes.
Update now
A bug in the updater means 1.0.2 has to be downloaded manually. The in-app auto-updater won’t pick this release up. Grab it from the download page. The updater itself is fixed in a later release.
